Less unnecessary washing, more steaming!

Less washing and more steaming!

Worn underwear, socks and stinky clothes? Hup into the wash. Worn a shirt, dress, blouse a day without perspiring? Just put the steamer over it, and hup back on the lad into the closet! Why make it hard on ourselves when it can be easier ánd more sustainable!

It is recommended to wash as little as possible

Sustainable fashion designer Stella McCartney told " the Observer" in an interview that she never washes her suits or takes them to the dry cleaners, even adding that you should wash as little as possible. It happens SO often that we throw our garments in the laundry basket at the end of the day, when in fact they are not dirty at all. Unfortunately not really a sustainable habit.... And also very time-consuming to have to get rid of several washes and the full ironing basket afterwards.

Research shows that a lot of washing shortens the life of your textiles. This has everything to do with soap, heat, lying around in the drum and contact with other clothes. The fibers of fabrics are affected, and fabrics become thinner and pill, colors fade and clothes lose their shape.

But then why do we all think this is necessary? The answer is simple: clever marketing by detergent manufacturers. Mac Bishop, the founder of a clothing brand whose clothes you hardly have to wash, experienced it while working for Unilever's marketing team: "The only way to grow a detergent brand is to make people think they have to wash a lot.

Frequent ironing is also very bad for your textiles. Fibers are crushed, so to speak, and combined with the red-hot ironing plate, this causes faster wear and tear. You give your most beloved fabrics the long life they deserve by taking good care of them. Washing and ironing as little as possible prevents wear and fading. Enjoy your most beautiful garments, bedding, tablecloths, decorative pillows, etc. for an extra long time.

Use a hand dryer

We long ago got rid of running unnecessary laundry and wasting unnecessary time on ironing tasks. The STEAM'R is the ultimate invention for us. The specially designed pattern on the metal plate of the STEAM'R, combined with the hot steam ensure that the fibers of the textile are "lifted" and not affected. This process is similar to the natural drying process on the (outside) air. As you can imagine, this is much less harsh (than, say, using a hot, squashing, iron) on the fibers of delicate fabrics. Using a handheld steamer is also super fast! Believe us, it really is a godsend to your busy life to still always look neat, fresh and wrinkle-free in a very short time!
