How to use the STEAMRS Clothes Dryer. A complete guide
A clothes steamer, like the STEAMRS hand steamer, is a great tool for refreshing your clothes quickly and efficiently. Whether you want to rid a delicate blouse of wrinkles or steam a dress on location, this handheld steamer makes it easy. In this blog, we explain to you step by step how to use the clothes steamer, which techniques to use for best results and why the STEAMRS hand steamer is ideal for different situations.
Roadmap: How to use the STEAMRS handheld steamer.
Follow this simple step-by-step plan to get the most out of your STEAMRS hand steamer:
-
Remove the water reservoir
Start by detaching the water reservoir from the handheld steamer. This is usually easy to do by sliding the reservoir loose downward. -
Fill the reservoir with water
Pull up the transparent tab on the reservoir, and fill the reservoir with water. Ordinary tap water can be used, but it is recommended that you use distilled water to prevent scale build-up. Switching between tap and distilled water can extend the life of your steamer and ensure that steam quality remains high. -
Allow the appliance to warm up
Once the filled reservoir is slid back into the garment steamer, turn on the hand steamer by plugging it in. The warm-up will take about 20 seconds. You will see that the light on the device turns green as soon as it is ready to use. This means the steamer has reached the right temperature and you can begin. -
Steam your garment
Press the steamer against the fabric and hold down the steam button to generate steam. For best results, use your free hand to pull the fabric taut as you steam. You can also use the special steam glove from STEAMRS for extra protection and grip. The light jumps to orange sometimes during steaming, and then to green again. This indicates that the unit is generating steam again. Our tip: don't watch this too much, and just keep steaming if the light jumps to orange very often. -
Experiment with steam directions
Try different techniques: steam both horizontally and vertically, depending on the garment or surface. A handy tip: steam clothes from the inside out, too. This can help remove stubborn wrinkles even faster. -
Refill the water reservoir after 7-10 minutes
With a fully filled reservoir, you can steam for about 7-10 minutes. Then it's time to refill the reservoir for longer use. You will hear and notice immediately from the steamer when the reservoir runs out and needs refilling.
